Vancouver, British Columbia–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Ynvisible Interactive Inc. (the “Company” or “Ynvisible”) (TSX-V: YNV, FSE: 1XNA, OTCQB: YNVYF), a fast-growing company in the Internet of Things (IoT) market, announces a collaboration with Exevio, a digital solutions company focused on quality, execution and implementation of modern technologies.
Exevio engaged Ynvisible on a project in Croatia to produce a digital paper road sign that informs about the availability of EV charging stations.
The project was supported by the Competence Center for Smart Cities (CEKOM), a government-backed organization that promotes R&D in the field of smart cities that includes electric vehicles.
As the market for electric vehicles grows at a breakneck pace, a growing problem is the lack of EV chargers on the road, leading to congestion at charging stations.
The problem is that when an individual comes to an EV charging station to charge his car, he finds the chargers busy. Before Ynvisible and Exevio’s digital signage solution, the only way to find out if a stand was available was to use a mobile app while driving, which put yourself and others at risk.
With the implementation of digital signs at critical locations such as major intersections, car park entrances or above EV stations themselves, drivers can now be notified of the availability of charging stations, reducing the need to use a smartphone while driving.
The digital signage had to be extremely energy-efficient, energy-independent and send geolocation data in order to be durable and self-sufficient on the road. It also had to meet road safety legislation and emit minimal visual stimuli to avoid distraction while driving, while looking like a traditional road sign.
Ivan Jokic, engineer at Exevio said:
“We saw an opportunity to use electronic paper displays to achieve sustainability and autonomy. We needed a classic yet novel interpretation of a panel for electric vehicle charging stations and engaged Ynvisible for the produce for us.
“Ynvisible has an interesting approach to electronic paper technology; its screen is capable of displaying numbers, using low amounts of energy, easy to operate, and easy to repair and replace, which enables our product to have a low impact on the environment. Fast production at low cost; and the ability to implement our own custom design also played a key role in choosing Ynvisible.
Ynvisible recently announced the latest version of its e-paper display, positioning the technology as the most energy efficient printed display on the market. This technology is ideal for digital signage solutions as it requires very little power and is cheaper to produce than other alternative display technologies.
