West Ham United want Adnan Januzaj and have now made contact with his representatives in the hope of securing a deal.
The Hammers are yet to dive into the summer transfer window but need new signings for David Moyes.
A new winger will surely be on West Ham’s wishlist with Andriy Yarmolenko on the move and Said Benrahma potentially on the way out.
Ismaila Sarr has been linked with West Ham, but Moyes could instead engineer a much cheaper move by reuniting with Januzaj.
West Ham United want Adnan Januzaj
The Daily Star reports that Moyes wants to bring winger Januzaj to West Ham and a deal could be in the works.
It is reported that West Ham have made contact with Januzaj’s representatives as they seek to agree a deal.
Januzaj is a free agent having been released by Spanish club Real Sociedad when his contract expired this summer.
The Belgium international scored five goals and provided three assists in 44 appearances last season.
Januzaj has been a favorite for Moyes over the years and a reunion really wouldn’t come as a surprise.
Moyes gave Januzaj his Manchester United breakthrough in 2013 and the wide man responded by scoring twice against Sunderland.
Many expected Januzaj to become an absolute star following this performance, but it never really happened for him.
Moyes and Januzaj reunited at Sunderland in 2016 and the 27-year-old wide has already praised Moyes.
Joining forces again could make sense, with Januzaj a right-footed left-footed winger, much like Jarrod Bowen.
Januzaj could provide ideal competition for Bowen on a cheap deal, and Moyes may think he can make the most of his former wide man.
Moyes will of course want to spend the money on reinforcements this summer, but a free agent he loves may have just fallen into his lap in Januzaj.
