POWERGRID and JKPCC sign a memorandum of understanding for the construction of 16 toilets

Jammu, Mar 10 (UNI) The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with J&K Projects Construction Corporation Limited for the construction of 16 toilets at Jawahar NavodayaVidyalaya, Nud in Samba district of Jammu- and Kashmir. As part of POWERGRID’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by SK Chowan, Senior Managing Director (RE&ST) on behalf of POWERGRID and Dinesh Kumar Nayyar, DGM (Executive Engineer) on behalf of JKPCC Ltd, Kathua and Samba in the presence of Sanjay Kumar Verma, Senior DGM (HR), POWERGRID, Ramesh Kumar, Senior DGM (Samba), POWERGRID and other senior officers of POWERGRID and JKPCC limited These toilets will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 46.89 lakhs within 9 months, an official said. He said Somnath, Principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, thanked POWERGRID for taking this CSR initiative to provide hygienic infrastructure in the school premises which will benefit around 450 students and 70 staff members. As a responsible corporate citizen, POWERGRID has extended its support for the development of various infrastructure activities in the province of Jammu through its CSR initiatives amounting to more than Rs 2 crore over the past three years.
