PEC and Sialkot Chamber sign MoU to design development framework – Business & Finance


SIALKOT: A delegation from the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) visited the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and discussed matters of mutual interest with the officials of the Chamber here on Sunday.

According to a press release posted here, the delegation consisted of PEC Chairman’s Advisor and Pakistan Development Committee (PPDC) Organizer Mir Masood Rashid, PEC Board Member Mian Sultan Mehmood and Syed Jawad Gillani , WEDC Member Shaela Sajman and PEC Deputy Registrar. Wasif Bhatti.

SCCI President Mian Imran Akbar and Vice President Qasim Malik welcomed delegates.

Possible avenues of collaboration were explored between CSIC and PEC to design a framework for development and to address industry issues faced by CSIC members for necessary resolutions. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the SCCI and the CEP at the end of the session.

CSIC President Mian Imran Akbar said the graduate engineer internship program, final year design projects and identification of cottage industry will support innovation, product development and overcome the shortage of skilled labor in Sialkot. SCCI Vice President Qasim Malik said the MoU would launch efforts that would improve and elevate Pakistan’s economic status. In addition, it will extend the work capacity of industrialists to achieve industrial excellence. CSIC members and faculty members from various engineering universities participated in the session.
