Flower Turbines has signed a memorandum of understanding to partner with Texas Tech University’s GLEAMM lab to research wind power in collaboration with solar power.

LONG BEACH, NY, USA, December 17, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – Flower Turbines Inc. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to partner with Texas Tech’s Global Energy Asset Management and Manufacturing Laboratory University (GLEAMM) (https: // www.depts.ttu.edu/gleamm/) to research the benefits of using wind power in conjunction with other sustainable energy sources.

The project has two phases. The first phase will consist of installing several turbines at the site, in Lubbock, Texas, at the Reese Technology Center. The second phase is to seek joint sources of funding in the form of grants to carry out projects in micro-grids, building energy, etc.

Flower Turbines and GLEAMM are delighted to announce this collaboration and plan to collect valuable and reliable data on the performance of small wind turbines under varying conditions.

This partnership ensures that GLEAMM can achieve its vision, which is to work with researchers and private companies to improve the electricity grid and understand the effects of renewable energy grid integration.

The State of Texas created GLEAMM with an investment of $ 13 million. Researchers use the facility to research and develop existing and new power grid technologies for public and private partners.

Texas Tech University is recognized as a “first level” research university by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. The university has 40,000 students and spent more than $ 84 million on research last year.

Flower Turbines is establishing its manufacturing, engineering and customer service center in Lubbock, Texas. He employs several Texas Tech alumni.
