Cellid, Inc. to Begin Shipping 60 Degree FOV Waveguide Display Module Samples

TOKYO – (COMMERCIAL THREAD) – Cellid, Inc. (Tokyo, CEO: Satoshi Shiraga, “Cellid”) has announced that it will begin supplying samples of “Cellid Waveguide 60”, the display module that mounts the FOV 60-degree display on the largest in the world in a waveguide architecture.

This display module is an innovative device designed for AR glasses which consists of the larger FOV waveguide and the ultra-compact 1.2cc projector with micro-LED. Samples on the upcoming offer generate a unique green color. Sample color versions are expected to start shipping around February 2022.

Specialized display modules for AR glasses that have been considered “the next devices after smartphones” are needed to simultaneously achieve “downshift” and “wider field of view”. Our Cellid Waveguide 60 has succeeded in providing a much wider field of view and a more compact size than any similar modules on the market today.

Our engineering team has solid expertise in optical design thanks to the computer simulation capability of Satoshi Shiraga, CEO and former researcher at CERNI and the seasoned production engineering knowledge of Toshiaki Shozu, our chief engineer and former senior engineer at Olympus.
