Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has claimed the club will welcome Neymar if Paris Saint-Germain are serious about selling the Brazilian star.
This is despite the potentially huge cost involved in signing Neymar, as well as the potential for controversy due to his past with fierce rivals Barcelona.
Neymar was snatched from Barca when PSG triggered the €222million buyout clause in his contract at Camp Nou and he agreed a long-term contract in the French capital. The player then attempted to return to his former club but has since signed new terms with PSG.
But his future at the Parc des Princes has once again been the subject of uncertainty and speculation this summer amid growing claims that PSG are ready to sell him.
There are very few clubs with the status and resources to strike a deal for Neymar and it has already been reported that Manchester City in particular have turned down the opportunity.
Real Madrid have been touted as a viable alternative option, having missed out on both Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland this summer.
Los Blancos have attempted to sign Neymar at various points in his career so far, including inviting him to Madrid for a visit when he was just 14, and Casemiro seems certain his international team-mate would be welcome back at the club. Bernabeu even now.
“Neymar can play for any team in the world. If PSG don’t want him, Real Madrid want him. Okay?” said the Brazilian midfielder Sport TV.
Neymar himself publicly insisted on Saturday that he wants to stay at PSG.
