AEW President Tony Khan has a great passion for professional wrestling, which isn’t really anything new. However, he has a penchant for doing a lot of irresponsible things. Some fans have always wondered if John Cena would also go to AEW. Jim Cornette has a very interesting take on what would happen if Khan signed Cena.
The AEW roster is full of many very talented and accomplished professional wrestlers from around the world. However, the roster is clearly bloated now and not everyone can get enough spotlight.
Speaking on Jim Cornette’s drive-thru, former WWE manager Jim Cornette talked about Tony Khan constantly singing new talent. Cornette then said he thought Khan would sign Cena just to put him in a dark match.
“I swear to God right now, if he had the opportunity to sign John Cena, Tony Khan that I’m talking about and he had already written Wednesday night television, he would sign John Cena and put him in a fucking dark match on YouTube because it just didn’t have a place.
As for John Cena, he’s likely to be committed to a program with Austin Theory ahead of WrestleMania 39 next year, but it still depends on his schedule. We’ll have to wait and see what Cena does next.
