1.8K candidates register with PH Army in a recruitment caravan

MANILA – The Philippine Army (PA) announced on Tuesday that nearly 1,800 midshipmen participated in its two-day recruiting caravan held at the army headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila, on March 12 and 13.

“Some 1,212 military candidates and 500 officer candidates registered to take the pre-qualification Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFPSAT) service test during the weekend caravan. pass interviews, physical fitness tests, business and medical and neuropsychiatric tests to determine if they are qualified for training,” AP spokesman Col. Xerxes Trinidad said in a statement.

He added that the two-day recruiting caravan, which is led by the Army Personnel Management Center, is part of the month-long series of activities to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Army. AP, March 22.

Trinidad also said nine major PA units – Aviation Regiment, Armored Division, Signals Regiment, Civilian Military Operations Regiment, 51st Engineer Brigade, Special Forces Regiment (Airborne), First Scout Guards Regiment , Army Support Command and Army Artillery Regiment – – joined the caravan and set up recruiting booths and static displays to educate army aspirants on the various duties of soldiers in the organization.

“The Philippine Army Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Reserve and Retired Affairs (OG9, PA) has also set up a booth for Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) cadets and aspiring members of reserve force,” he added.

Trinidad also said that 138 candidates applied for civilian human resources positions at the booth of the Directorate of Civilian Personnel Management of the Office of the Philippine Army, which reports to the Deputy Chief of Staff of Personnel (OG1, PA). (NAP)
